ScanDigital & Memory Makers

One area that seems perfectly suited to ScanDigital’s service, is the scrapbooking industry. Scrapbookers have made a hobby (and in most cases a passion) for collecting and honoring their memories with through creative projects. They have thousands of photos lying around their homes and offices, and scrapbooking helps them to fully appreciate the value of these photos. Once the creative designs are finished, they can easily preserve them using ScanDigital’s Scrapbook Scanning Services. In addition, the rise of digital scrapbooking has created even more need for old photos to be preserved in digital format.
This is why I was so excited last week when we officially launched a partnership with Memory Makers, the premier community within the Scrapbooking Industry. For 2009, ScanDigital will be the exclusive provider of scanning services to Memory Makers - which will include scanning all of the professional scrapbook designs presented their bimonthly Memory Makers Magazine. The publication features the ideas and stories of readers around the world—people who believe in keeping scrapbooks and the tradition of the family photo historian alive.
We are all really excited to be off and running with the Memory Makers partnership. Our first big step towards reaching the scrapbooking community was our visit to Memory Makers’ Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington, Texas. Our booth appeared right in the middle of this scrapbooking paradise of workshops, scrapbook supplies, new products reviews, cropping parties, and anything else these enthusiastic scrapbookers could possibly need. We were thrilled with the responses of people who had been seeking a service to preserve their work, but had no idea ScanDigital existed. After three days of handing out countless brochures, we came back exhausted but with a much better understanding of the needs of this community.
Upon our return, we began work to recreate our process for scrapbook scanning. Instead of handling these projects in the same process as photos, slides and negative scanning, we created a new workflow entirely designed for scrapbooks. We created a process to comprehensively meet the needs of both traditional and digital scrapbookers. We’ve invested in state-of-the-art large format scanners to provide a big benefit to scrapbookers: full scans of every page without an splicing, stitching or recreation of their pages. We’ve seen some amazing work from this community and we’re excited that through our Scrapbook Scanning Service, long hours of beautiful, but tedious work can be preserved in high quality for generations to come.
